This is why XRP is currently considered a top pick for potential parabolic growth after the 2026 midterm elections. A history lesson from November 2024 shows that XRP was trading at $0.50 before the presidential election, largely ignored due to an ongoing SEC case against Ripple.
Within weeks, it surged from $0.50 to $3.40, a gain of 580%. Investors then set aggressive price targets, with some predicting XRP could break $10 by year-end. This surge was linked to the pro-crypto agenda of the incoming presidential administration.
After Donald Trump’s election victory, cryptocurrencies saw significant valuation increases, with Bitcoin reaching $100,000 and Solana hitting new highs. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse’s frequent appearances at White House crypto events and his vision for a blockchain-based payment system have drawn attention from top Trump administration officials. Ripple is seen as central to President Trump’s goal of making America the crypto capital of the world.
The crypto industry has invested heavily in the 2026 midterms, raising the stakes. Standard Chartered has a $12.50 price target for XRP by 2028, suggesting a potential 10x increase over 24 months. However, XRP’s past history of overpromising and underdelivering remains a concern, as its all-time high is just $3.84.
Despite this, the likelihood of XRP going parabolic depends on midterm election outcomes favoring pro-crypto candidates.
